Daily Disposable Contact Lenses
Daily wear contact lenses, also known as daily disposable contacts are soft lenses used for the day, removed before sleeping and discarded. A new lens is then used the next day.
The advantage of a new lens every day is that they don’t need to be cleaned or disinfected. Additionally, because the lenses are only worn for a day, the risk of infection is less. Additionally, those who are having problems with build-up of protein on their contact lenses may find that a fresh pair of contacts on a daily basis makes their eyes more comfortable.
Although daily disposable lenses can be more expensive, for a patient who only wears contacts occasionally, this may be a perfect option. Consider daily lenses if you have sensitivity to disinfecting solution or you like the convenience and hygiene of new lenses daily.
